Tinnitus Information Session Hearing Australia Burnie The rhythmic call of cicadas is a welcome sound of summer for many Australians, signalling lazy days and balmy nights. But what if you experienced a similar ringing sound in your ears all the time? This is a reality for one in seven Australians who experience tinnitus. In many cases, tinnitus is only temporary and can be brought on after a concert or even a gym class. Yet for others, the ringing noise is constant. From missing punch lines to sleepless nights, tinnitus can cause people stress, frustration and tiredness. Tai Chi East Devonport Community House Anyone of any age or fitness level can try tai chi. For older adults especially, tai chi comes with many benefits. It has been shown to improve balance and reduce falls. The physical components targeted by tai chi – leg strength, flexibility, range of motion and reflexes – tend to decline with age, but are all needed for us to stay upright. Discovering Reid Street Reserve Central Coast Council Join us on a guided bird-identification walk. The remnant forest and its linkage to the Leven River has become like an island refuge for many endemic birds. See Tasmania’s endemic honeyeaters, some summer migrants and at least hear some cuckoos. Walking shoes required (no heels). The walk has uneven surfaces and steps. A broad-brimmed hat is also recommended. Bring binoculars if you have them. Bring a drink and a packed lunch to enjoy afterwards if you like. No cost, although registrations required.
