Mission Statement
Coast FM is a community radio station covering the NW coast of Tasmanian
It broadcasts music, news and information for the populations of
Devonport, Burnie and Smithton and their surrounding areas that directly
affected the local area. It has developed a Coast FM “family”
relationship with this audience and the many others that listen via the
Internet streaming facility.
The programming is made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers who provide a “Local and Live” sound for a variety of programs from specialist music – Classical, Jazz, Band, Celtic, Country and the daily selections of the recent past from our popular music resources. Our popular sport programming and live football coverage has always recent very positive responses. Our links to our local audience is supported by the many community announcements and interviews that are broadcasted live by our team of experienced announcers.
Coast FM has a modern purposed built production facility that is capable of developing professionally sounding sponsorship announcements for the many businesses that financially support the station’s operations. The productions of Coast FM are developed in its studios in Wynyard which are then broadcasted on the FM band on 106.1 MHz from the main transmitter located on Tape Cape it is then relayed to our two other transmitters in Smithton on 88.9 Mhz and Devonport on 104.7 MHz.
